We are excited to share the eBook and final video about the LandUnderPressure project, which is coming to an end.
The Montado, a multifunctional agro-sylvo-pastoral system predominant in the drylands of south-eastern Portugal, hosts high biodiversity, provides numerous ecosystem services, and holds significant cultural value. However, this system is highly prone to desertification and vulnerable to climate change. Its decline is driven by factors such as increasing aridity and unsustainable land use practices like overgrazing.
In response to these challenges, the LandUnderPressure project contributed to the prevention, mitigation, and restoration of montados, combating desertification and increasing their resilience to climate change.
This project, financed by EEAGrants, represents a collaborative effort to protect and sustain this system.
