Field work to select short-term grazing exclusion areas

From the 16th-20th January 2023, the researchers Adriana Príncipe and Bruna Paolinelli Reis went to the Herdade da Coitadinha to select 20 sub-plots of 9 x 9 m (81 m2), in order to evaluate the effect of short-term grazing exclusion under different conditions of solar radiation and grazing intensity. In each sub-plot, grazing exclusion fences will be installed, and controls will be defined in adjacent areas to quantify the natural regeneration of Oak species.

Marking the locations where grazing exclusion fences will be placed at Herdade da Coitadinha, Barrancos, Portugal.
